Chuitna has a king salmon run in June, and the silvers run from the middle of July to the middle of September.

River is completely accessible by foot.  No boats are used, and all you need is a good set of waders to fish each and every hole.

  typically run 20-30 pounds, with an occasional 40 pounder.  The silvers run 8-13 pounds, they only feel like 30 pounds on the end of that line.  Both runs are very prolific on the Chuitna, so whichever game fish you choose to chase, you should expect plenty of action.
